We have developed these general information practices to assure You that Your privacy is respected and that Your personal data submitted as registration data ("Registration Data") is protected.

Our Privacy Policy sets out in a non-exhaustive manner Zii's online information practices for handling personal and non-personal information, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully each time before You use any Zii web sites ("Site(s)") and any online applications under our direct and complete control ("App(s)") whether offered through the Site(s) or some other form of electronic delivery. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any information that You may provide to us or that we may collect offline and/or through other means.

We may change our Privacy Policy at any time, without notice to You. By continuing to use the Site(s) and App(s) after we post any such changes, You accept the Privacy Policy as modified. We encourage You to refer to the current Privacy Policy each time You use our Site(s) or any App(s) so that You are aware of the current terms. It is Your responsibility to review them from time to time and to keep up to date with any changes.

1.  INFORMATION WE COLLECT

The information that we collect about You while You are using the Site(s) and App(s) falls into two general categories (Sections 1.1 and 1.2)

1.1 Information You Provide to Us (including Personally Identifiable Information)

1.1.1  You may create a Zii Account to use the Services available at our Sites or when using certain Apps. To identify You and to protect Your Zii Account from any unauthorized access we ask for Your Registration Data when You create an Account. You will then be able to access the Zii Account each time with Your email and password.

1.1.2    At the Sites, depending on availability, You can order Products, register for materials, make requests, download software, enter contests, vote in polls or otherwise express an opinion, order our Services, such as our online newsletters, and/or participate in our online forums or communities. The types of personally identifiable information that may be collected at these pages include but are not limited to name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, fax number, credit card information, and/or information about Your interests in and/or use of various Products, programs and Services. Data collected online may also be combined with information You provide when You register Your ownership of Zii and/or our affiliates’ Products.

1.1.3  We may collect, retain and use information, personal or otherwise, that You voluntarily supply either while on the Site(s), the App(s), through a third party, or in responding via e-mail in connection with a feature provided on the Site(s) and App(s). Some examples of this type of information include information that You electronically submit when You sign up for access to certain features on the Site(s) and App(s), survey data, contests and puzzles on the Site(s) and App(s), information that You post on message boards on the Site(s) and App(s), and information contained in search requests or questions that You submit to or through the Site(s) and App(s).

1.1.4   We may use Your information to better understand Your individual needs, communicate with You and to help us provide You with better service and user experience. You may choose not to provide any information, in which case Your use of the Site(s) will be limited to navigating the Site(s), viewing only what is generally available and You will not be liberty to use the Site(s) fully and/or download materials from the Site(s). You may not be able to use or participate in some or all of the features offered through the Site(s) and App(s).

1.2 Information that is Automatically Collected1.2.1 Non-personally identifiable information

As one who accesses and uses the Site(s) or the App(s), whether You are a registered user or not, , we may collect visitation data. Such information is not linked to any personally identifiable information. Any such information that we collect is used to help us identify the most popular aspects of the Site(s) and the App(s) to help determine the effectiveness of our promotional activities and to improve users’ experience as well as help us in future planning and developing the Site(s) and the App(s) further. Another example of information that we may automatically collect as You navigate the Site(s) and App(s) is information about Your computer’s connection to the Internet. This information allows us, among other things, to improve the delivery of our web pages and other content to You and to measure traffic on the Site(s) and App(s).

1.2.2 Cookies

Whenever You access and navigate Your way through the Site(s) or the App(s), one or more cookies may be sent to Your computer. We employ cookies and similar technology to improve and personalize Your experience and our offerings to You, based on Your browsing history visiting the Site(s) and App(s) and using our online services ("Services") or purchasing our Products (which is defined to refer to any product listed on any of our Sites). Cookies collect information such as IP addresses, operating systems, browser software, etc but they do not collect any names or other personal information. Cookies may also be used to record anonymous information pertaining to type and frequency of web pages, web sites viewed or applications used. This helps us in analyzing trends, tracking users’ general movements and patterns, measuring traffic at the Site(s) and the Apps and gathering broad demographic information for aggregate and other use. As part of this effort, we may also use our own and third party measurement technologies to assist us in gathering and analyzing that data. We may let certain other parties who advertise on the Site(s) and the App(s) set and access their cookies on Your computer. Other companies' use of their cookies is subject to their own privacy policies, not this one. Advertisers and/or other companies do not have access to Zii cookies.

2.  HOW YOUR INFORMATION MAY BE USED

We do not disclose Your private information except in the limited circumstances described here.

2.1 With Your permission

We will not sell, rent, loan or lease Your personally identifiable information to others unless we have Your permission, are authorized herein or are required by law to do so. We will not use or share the personally identifiable information that You provide to us online in ways unrelated to those described herein without Your prior permission.

2.2 With our affiliates, entities, vendors and business associates

As we operate globally, we may share Your information with other entities (including our affiliated companies), vendors and/or business associates who are acting on our behalf to provide the Services or information or content we provide to You, to consolidate data storage, or to simplify the management of customer information. Such entities and/or business associates are guided in our mutual dealings by our Privacy Policy whenever Your personal data is involved, if at all.

2.3 Public security and other reasons

Be aware that we may occasionally release information about users when release is appropriate to comply with or enforce our Conditions of Web Site Usage or the ZiiServices Agreement, or to protect the rights, property or safety of users of the Site(s) and App(s), the public, or ourselves and our affiliates. At times we may be required by law or in association with defense efforts or protection of rights to disclose Your personal information. We may also at our sole discretion disclose information about You, e.g. if we determine that for national security, law enforcement or other issues of public importance that such disclosure is necessary.

In summary, the information collected may be used in relation to:

  • Provision of our Services, including customization of content and advertising;

  • Auditing, market research and analysis in order to maintain, protect and improve our Services and Products;

  • Developing new Services and/or Products;

  • Ensuring the proper technical functioning of our network(s); and/or

  • Protection of our rights and/or property and/or that of our users.

3.  USE OF IP ADDRESSES

An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to Your computer whenever You are surfing the Web. Our Site(s) can capture these IP addresses to identify a user’s geographical location. We may collect IP addresses for the purposes of system administration and audit of the use of the Site(s). We can and will use IP addresses to identify a user when we feel it is necessary to enforce compliance with our terms and/or policies or to protect our Services, Site(s), its servers, users or others. Some Services and e-mails sent from us, such as those dealing with registration-related matters, may display IP addresses along with the message.

4.  WHY WE COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

4.1 Zii Online Services

To process Your order, we may ask You for Your personal information such as: name, age, e-mail address, delivery address (which must be a postal address and not a P.O. Box, FPO, APO, a hotel address or the like), telephone number, credit or debit card details, etc.

4.2 Online Registration / System Correspondence

You can become a registered user by creating a Zii Account at www.zii.com by following the step-by-step instructions provided there. Upon successful registration, You will be eligible to access certain Services and Content from the Site(s) and certain App(s), participate in online activities, and/or purchase Products and/or accessories. For more details, please read the terms and conditions and other related policies available at www.zii.com. From time to time, we may send registered users the latest information about these Services or new offerings via e-mail.

4.3 Surveys, Promotions and Contests

From time to time we may through the Site(s) and App(s) request information from You via surveys, promotions or contests. Participation in these surveys, promotions or contests is completely voluntary and You have a choice whether or not to disclose any information. Information requested may include contact information, such as Your name, age (for eligibility purposes) and Your address (which shall include both Your postal and e-mail addresses) to notify the winner(s) and also demographic information. Survey information may be used for purposes of monitoring usage and/or improving the the Site(s) and the App(s).

4.4 Mailing Lists

We may occasionally provide the opportunity for registered users and visitors to supply their e-mail addresses for the purpose of receiving specific newsletter(s), promotional materials and/or information on our new Products and Services. These e-mail addresses will only be used for this purpose and will not be shared with unaffiliated third parties unless You have provided Your consent for us to do so. We will give You the opportunity to Opt In, to receiving such specific newsletter(s), promotional materials and/or information on our new Products and Services. In addition, where applicable, we will follow local requirements, such as allowing You to Opt In before receiving unsolicited e-mails.

5.  HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION

To help prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, to maintain data accuracy and to verify the appropriate use of Your information, we have put into place physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard the information that we receive online from You. We generally use encryption technologies when collecting and/or transferring data. In the unlikely event of a security breach and where Your personal data has been abused or You have been impersonated, please Contact Us to immediately report such abuse.

6.  ACCESS TO YOUR REGISTRATION DATAYou may access and correct Your Registration Data at any time. To review, update or make changes to Your personal information, You may access the My Account section of the Site(s) or certain App(s). You are required to update Your personal information and ensure that all information provided to us is true, correct and up-to-date. You hereby represent and warrant to us that You are not using fictitious details or someone else’s data or details. Ordinarily, only authorised personnel will be able to access Your Registration Data.

7. YOUR INFORMATION THAT OTHERS MAY SEE OR USE

Whenever You voluntarily make Your personal or other information available for viewing by third parties online – for example on public message boards, through unsecure e-mail or web logs, or in chat areas – that information can be seen, collected and used by others besides us. We cannot be responsible for any third party use of such information.

8.  THIRD PARTY WEB SITES AND APPLICATIONS

Please note that our Privacy Policy only applies to Sites and Apps that are within our direct and complete control and links to third party web sites and applications are provided solely as a convenience to You. You are advised to check the privacy policies of those web sites and applications before providing or sending Your personal information to or through them. We have not reviewed these third party web sites or applications, do not control and shall not under any circumstances be responsible for any of these web sites and applications, their content or their privacy policies. Thus, we do not endorse or make any representations about these web sites and applications, or any information, products, services, content or material that may be found there.

  1. STATEMENT ON CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

This statement on children’s privacy sets out our practices with respect to the online collection and use of personal information from children below the age of 13, and provides important information regarding their rights with respect to such information.

  • We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. We may screen users who provide personal information with the aim of preventing users under the age of 13 from providing such information and/or deleting such information provided to us but we generally do not actively screen users based on their age although we may do so. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personally identifiable information from a user under the age of 13, we will delete such information from our records. If we change our practices in the future, we will seek users’ parental (or guardians’) consent before collecting any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13.

  • Since we do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 using the Site(s) and/or App(s), we do not knowingly distribute such information to third parties.

  • We do not knowingly allow children under the age of 13 to publicly post or otherwise distribute personally identifiable contact information at or through the Site(s) and the App(s).

We ask individuals under the age of 18 to have a parent or guardian supervise their use of the Site(s) and/or the App(s) and assist them with sending any transmissions over the Internet.

We encourage parents and guardians to take an active role in their children’s online activities and interests. We want to help You guard Your child’s privacy. We encourage You to talk to Your child about safe and responsible use of his or her personal information while using the Internet.
